Sin separates man from God but Jesus made an avenue of grace.
And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? (Matthew 27:46 KJV)
“My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me????” This was the moment when the entire load of sin and shame came upon Jesus and bringing about His physical death by coming in between He and His Father. It was not His own personal sin, as He is sinless. This sin was yours and mine and all mankind’s standing between He and the perfection of God.
Jesus took all sin: past, present, and future of mankind and threw it into the deepest ocean. God did not hold onto our sin but buried it forever in the deepest sea. Not only did he die for our sin, He cast it away and paid the cost and was resurrected from death unto life three days later.
