Are you serving God and others?
As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. (Galatians 6:10 KJV)
Paul is summing up walking in the Spirit. He is exhorting brethren to do good to every man whether they be in the spiritual family of God or following after the god of this world. However Paul added the thought that we are to especially do good to those who do reside in God’s spiritual family.
Doing well to those who are without the spiritual family demonstrates or shines God’s love for others to see and respond to; pricking them or making them desire His goodness for their life as well. It is an attitude of mirroring God to others.
God’s own family does become spiritually tired and worn out needing much encouragement from our brothers and sisters in Christ who work to inspire and motivate us keeping the spiritual fire burning within us as we face oppressive and stark situations in this world which work to quench our spiritual momentum and often stand as roadblocks in bringing honor and glory to Christ.
God desires that His spiritual body serve each other through spiritual deeds all for His honor and glory. This goodwill serves to draw the attention of others to Christ as we submit to His will for our life and cohesively as the spiritual family of God ultimately serving Him and each other as we sojourn in this world.
