Are you relying upon your own works or upon the supernatural power, strength, and mercy of God?
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; (Titus 3:5-6 KJV)
God is never dependent upon what we can do for Him; but man is dependent upon God and what His Son Jesus Christ has already finished upon the cross shedding His blood for mankind.
Man’s works towards becoming righteous are compared to dirty rags:
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. (Isaiah 64:6 KJV)
Man is nothing without God. He can do nothing or be nothing in and of himself. All man’s attempts at being righteous are insufficient and disappear or fade away at the first sign of trouble and tribulation. It is through God’s grace and mercy sending His Son to die shedding His blood for all sin; past, present, and future that man can be , do, and accomplish any good thing all in His supernatural power and strength having nothing to do with man.
