Jesus set the utmost example for us for to honor all men.
Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king. Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward. For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. (1 Peter 2:17-20 KJV)
Respect and honor are running in short supply in this world. The alternative energy many relationships are being fueled by is rebellion and disrespect rather than being subject giving due respect unto higher authority figures in this world and ultimately to God. Despite any froward circumstances man encounters with authority in this world God’s Word instructs us to remain thankful and obedient; even suffering for doing what is right as we look ultimately unto God.
Jesus set the utmost example in His patience in persecution and willingness to die upon the cross for the sin of mankind; according to the will of His Father knowing His shed blood was the only thing that would satisfy the debt of sin to God. His sacrifice was the only thing which could remove the sin of man rather than covering it as the Old Testament sacrifices did over and over again.
Do you endure authority, even if it is riddled with strife, oppression, or persecution as a good spiritual soldier knowing you are held accountable to God for your own actions and reactions now and for all eternity?
