Have you withdrawn from those producing sour and spoiled fruit?
Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us. (2 Thessalonians 3:6 KJV)
Paul is bringing about God’s commandment to separate from brothers and sisters who are disorderly and malfunctioning in their spiritual walk. To stick by the side of those who are walking amiss is to set your own self up for being dysfunctional as well. One slight misstep leads to more stumbling and likely a spiritual downfall akin to throwing yourself in the pathway to be run over by a bus.
Withdrawing yourself from those who insist on walking towards darkness is to change direction towards the righteousness and holiness of God. This adds spiritual cement to your journey bringing you closer in your personal walk with God. Separation from ungodliness always opens the door for righteousness, peace, and the grace and goodness of God to flow freely into our life and filling you to overflowing
Allowing clutter and spiritual barriers to protrude along the pathway prevents a close relationship with God to bloom and mature as things of this world inhibit or protrude upon our ability to grow, communicate, and relate to God. God’s children have been quickened alive to hear but spiritual clutter impedes robust spiritual health and grace from budding and blooming in our life.
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. (Ephesians 5:11 KJV)
God calls us to reprove and admonish unfruitful works of darkness according to righteous judgment as contained in His Word having no unfruitful fellowship with darkness.
