Are you spiritually determined to suffer for the cause of God?
For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls. (1 Peter 2:21-25 KJV)
I will not be a doormat to be roughshod and trodden over by an evil agenda but I do expect to suffer persecution and tribulation. I will suffer because Jesus Christ told me I would suffer for His sake. It is all about Him and nothing to do with mankind.
God left us with His masterful example of suffering for the cause of the gospel of Christ. This is suffering without seeking our own recourse or retribution but rather to suffer for the furtherance of His Gospel message while allowing God to protect our backside from any possible dire or dismal situation we may encounter along the course as we sojourn upon this earth.
The spiritual determination to allow God to receive all the honor and glory for the situation at hand requires agreeing with His view of sin according to commandments and precepts found in His Word.
Accepting God’s holy viewpoint of sin allows mankind liberty to choose righteous living over darkness and death from the god of this world. Choosing God’s way is an invitation to suffer persecution and oppression temporarily now but God has already won the final battle securing our spiritual victory for all eternity.
