Does godly wisdom fill your in your mind and your heart?
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her. She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee. (Proverbs 4:7-9 KJV)
Wisdom is the most important thing to acquire in this life. However, not all wisdom is equal or beneficial for godly living. Wisdom from God is essential in living the spiritual life according to His Word. It is a mental treasure to be valued highly for anyone who desires to live according to the things of God. God yearns that all who profess to live for Him will ask for wisdom from His Word with a sincere heart valuing His supernatural power coupled with their steadfast desire to become more Christ-like as they sojourn upon this earth.
God freely gives His spiritual wisdom to anyone who is deficient in the area of spiritual fortitude:
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. (James 1:5 KJV)
The spiritual things of God are constructed upon a sure foundation consisting first of a relationship of faith in Him fortified or strengthened by a godly understanding. It is like adding the icing on the divine cake. Wisdom accumulated from the Bible adds flavor or zest to our mental treasure chest of God’s commandments and teachings making them become alive in the recesses of our mind and moved in the chambers of our heart and eventually working its way into godly actions and attitude of life.
Reading in the book of Proverbs daily keeps the “mental spice” of our understanding fresh; it is like contemplating upon spiritual candy affecting everything about us; leaving behind an aroma of Christ about us as we sojourn upon this earth.
