Walking with God brings joy on this earth and profitable for all eternity.
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. (3 John 4 KJV)
It is a sad fact of the spiritual times in which we live today that many children are running wild with the devil rather than walking hand in hand with God and living according to the truth of His Word. Children walking in the Truth of God are now more an exception rather than the norm today.
The Apostle John Penned this scripture verse inspired of God and he was likely speaking of Gaius, who was not his ow child, but one who he thought of as being his own child. This verse is also applicable in pointing to those who are spiritual children of God in a general sense. Meaning anyone who is in God’s spiritual family and known as children of God, but not necessarily in light of their physical youthfulness but rather because of their spiritual youth.
Regardless of whether this verse in context is pointing to Gaius, or used as a precept referencing young aged children, or an immature member of the spiritual family of God, no doubt it always brings great joy to God as well as their earthly parents, to know their children are walking according to the Truth of God’s Word.
