Do you listen to enticing words of man or words with the power of God?
And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. (1 Corinthians 2:4-5 KJV)
Preaching must be supernatural in nature not self-reliant or based upon the weak and powerless words of man. No man can use his own words or opinion to argue his way into right fellowship with God. Man’s words do not contain any supernatural power but rather often flounder and falter on their own. Only the words of God can demonstrate His presence and supernatural power.
Many are relying upon the nature and strength of man’s words as articulated in philosophy and vain wisdom of this world to bring about lasting change in this world. Any changes that come as a result of man’s words and reasoning might be pleasant to hear but is often fleeting and foolish, falling away at the first sign of a contrary wind building up in this world.
The man of God is thoroughly furnished with the awesome power of His Word and remains spiritually tall through humble faith placed in the work of God. Man is strengthened and established in this world through the spiritual cement of His Word withstanding any spiritual storms that rise up and blow about in this world.
