Mature Christians will move from milk to meat of His Word.
But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. (Hebrews 5:14 KJV)
Infants cannot consume foods that older children and adults commonly eat. Infant’s bodies are not able to properly chew or digest food and are naturally accustomed to having a bland liquid diet such as their mother’s milk or formula packed full of necessary antibodies and nutrients a young thriving baby needs to grow and function into a mature adult. Infants will grow into a mature body moving to eating meat and other mature foods.
Baby Christians are no different. They are introduced to the simple Truths of God’s Word feeding on them to be spiritually filled with life-changing truth. The deeper precepts and concepts of His Word are able to be discerned by mature Christians who are led to dig deeper into His Word. The Holy Spirit reveals more about the characteristics and righteousness of God through diligent study of His Word.
Spiritual discernment is heightened by the advent of meaningful spiritual exercises through the leading of God’s Spirit residing in the quickened alive man. Discernment is made more sensitive as man ages and matures in their understanding and knowledge of His Word.
