What spirit guides you in this world?
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. (Romans 8:14 KJV)
Mankind in his natural state is led by his own lusts. His own lusts naturally follow after the god of this world. It is not a natural instinct or desire to follow after things of God. Why, because after the fall of mankind, Adam in the Garden of Eden, God created man as naturally born sinners who by their very nature follow the god of this world led by the spirit of darkness.
Man can choose to follow after God, led by the Spirit of God, indwelling within after receiving His great mercy and grace through placing faith in Jesus Christ’s finished work on the cross for all sin. God did give mankind freewill. This allows him to make choices based upon a basis such as: an ideal, tradition, emotions, belief, or being deeply rooted or founded upon the supernatural foundation and power of God. Different foundations applied to situations in life bring about a variety of circumstances and results. God is the only foundation which remains steadfast and firm amongst any stormy condition of life while any other basis begins to fall apart at the slightest hint of contrary winds and travail upon the horizon.
Those who are led by the Spirit of light and Truth are the Sons of God. Those who are led by darkness and discord are the sons of the god of this world. God illuminates the right path, the right way, coming alongside those who have placed their faith in Him and the power of His Word; ushering in circumstances that are according to His will and way for life.
The Bible tells us that His Word provides sure and righteous footing along the narrow pathway to eternity for those who love and desire His Word immersing themselves and studying willingly applying it to their life as they sojourn in this dark and wicked world:
How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. (Psalms 119:103-105 KJV)
Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me. (Psalms 119:133 KJV)
The spiritual man’s steps are aligned with the ordinances and precepts of God.
