Spring time paints a lovely picture of fresh blossoming new life.
For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away. (Song of Solomon 2:11-13 KJV)
There are many who love to look upon this earth as nature turns from the darkness and dreariness of winter into a bright and vibrant spring season complete with singing birds and a fresh palette of color to dot our landscape. God liberally brushes fresh green on the trees and a multitude of colors sporadically placed throughout the countryside as flowers begin to bud and bloom right before our eyes.
The spring season is a time of new life bursting forth brought about by warmer temperatures, sunlight and spring showers which wash away the dinginess and dreariness of winter, bringing about warmth and refreshment to the flora and fauna of this earth which drink in this much needed rain water which pours down from the heavens.
Song of Solomon is a book of the Bible clearly written by Solomon which paints a detailed picture of a special relationship that exists between a lovely bride and her groom. This totally in love couple could also be described as a metaphor for the time in the future that Christ returns for his church. This book paints a lovely picture of the blooming of a special relationship of a man and a woman whose desire for each other is unrelenting, just as the love God always has for His church.
Just as spring blooms with new life upon this earth the future coming of Christ will blossom with His magnificent presence upon this earth to gather His precious bride for perfect fellowship with God in the heavenly realm.
