The Power and Authority of God
Revelation 19:6 (KJB) And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
The word omnipotence is only found once in the Bible. However, other terms garnering the same meaning are found in a few other assorted verses in describing the power of God.
This word is used in relating for us the Apostle John’s opportunity to glance into the heavenly realm. This divinely recorded scripture verse gives a man a wonderful description of the presence and power of God of which he cannot fully ever imagine or fathom from this side of heaven.
The God of heaven and earth is always and forever omnipotent. This declaration means He is forever all-powerful, or without limit, and is the unstoppable supreme reigning King of Kings. There is no power found which is greater.
His power is supernatural, or supra which means above, any other power source. God has given the god of this world some limited powers, but nothing is ever greater than His ultimate presence and power.
One day every person, whether he is saved or in a lost condition, will experience firsthand the supernatural omnipotence of God and hear the great multitude, as did John, in his divine opportunity to peer into the heavenly realm.
