Touch But His Clothes
Mark 5:25-28 (KJB) And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, 27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. 28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
Think for a moment about the faith of this woman. She was confident that just touching the clothes of Jesus would bring certain healing for what ailed her. As Jesus preached to a crowd this woman came near enough to reach out and simply touch His garments.
However, this woman did not count on the fact that Jesus would discern the healing power that left Him as she simply touched His clothes. He immediately asked who had touched Him, knowing for certain that His divine healing power had gone from Him to someone standing near Him.
All this woman clearly understood was the only answer she would ever find for her ills was that they could be divinely relieved by her placing faith in God and activating His power through simply touching His garments. This decision revealed the supernatural power and presence of Jesus which was immediately put to work in her life.
This woman had spent many years, money, and wasted much time in this world searching for an answer to her ills. The reputation for the healing of Jesus preceded Him. This woman stood waiting to simply touch Him knowing that her faith in His power would bring healing to her chronic disease.
