Unwrapping the Perpetual Present
Luke 2:11 (KJB) For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Today, December 25th is set aside each year to celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.
The “unto you” mentioned in this verse, of course, is you and I and every other person who has in the past or does now exist upon this earth. God sent His Son to die as a Savior for all mankind. This tiny newborn was sent to be the future Savior of the whole world was sent to die a horrible death as a sacrifice, yes as payment of the sin nature of you and I, on the cross at Calvary.
Jesus Christ is of the Godhead and was sent by God to be born in the flesh. He existed on this earth as both God and man, called Christ the Lord, alive both spiritually and supernaturally and in the flesh as a human being.
What a precious present for mankind to unwrap and place in his heart through the spiritual fuel of faith. Do you personally have this perpetual present which keeps on giving and giving for all eternity? Or are you all wrapped up in earthly presents which are neatly stacked under your Christmas tree this morning?
This supernatural miracle of birth took place in the city of David, which of course is none other than Bethlehem, the earthly birthplace of Jesus Christ. It is for the spiritual benefit of all mankind bringing glory and honor to God.
