Who, What, Why, When, Where Wisdom Found in God’s Word
1 Corinthians 6:9 (KJB) Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind
The word Effeminate is located right smack dab in the middle of this scripture passage. The Apostle Paul was reiterating a “Spiritual Laundry List” of offensive behaviors to the members of the Corinthian Church. This list of offenses was nothing new, Paul was reminding the congregation of the grievous sinful nature at work in these actions. Some of these actions were present in the lives of these men and women present in the church.
To be clear, Paul was not calling these behaviors offensive in his own estimation. Paul repeated preaching about them because they are offensive to God. Any person who chooses to exhibit them in their life will not inherit eternal life, thereby choosing to die twice. God hates effeminate behavior, and for any person choosing such sinful action stands like a spiritual roadblock in the way of receiving eternal life.
We are going to spend a few moments to break down exactly what this word effeminate means because it is more common and always and forever offensive to God. Effeminate describes a wayward man’s choice to act in behavior and/or appear in fashion as a woman. It is a male choosing to be feminine rather than naturally masculine. God innately created a man to exist as male and woman to exist as a female. For any man to choose to be feminine, therefore, goes against his natural inkling and nature God wondrously fashioned innately in his soul.
Choosing to display effeminate behavior most often is associated with confusion and corruption about one’s own gender. God has created obvious distinction between each gender, thereby physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally making a man a man and a woman a woman. There is no possible changes or middle ground to be found in this matter. There are only males and females divinely created by God and born into this world.
God never makes a mistake, so no individual should attempt to change or alter that which God endowed, or naturally provided him. Gender roles are supernaturally set in stone by God and manifested physically in the womb before being birthed into this world.
