Words and Wisdom Are Given
Luke 21:12-15 (KJB) But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake. 13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony. 14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: 15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
Jesus Christ spoke of a time in the future (perhaps in the tribulation period?) where practicing genuine Christianity would be found in violation of man’s law. Professing Christians would be arrested and tossed into prison. This truth does not just speak of this happening in society at large, but even for those at work inside the church, serving as pastors and elders placed in prison for breaking the law of the land.
Will there come a time when there is a new social structure implemented on this earth when serving Christ will be punished by such extreme means? Certainly, laws regarding Christianity could easily be put into place by evil intentioned men placed in authority positions. Those choosing not to deny giving greater place to God in their lives would have to choose, like Daniel while in captivity, to endure and continue to serve God.
God always gives the man and woman of God just what he or she needs to testify of His Truth and to spiritually mature and profit during any adverse circumstances found in this world.
Would you testify for God when doing so is against the law of man in this world? Or would certain persecution silence your testimony of the goodness and greatness of God? Could this kind of religious persecution be found in the future of our land? Only God knows.
