Words falling to The Ground
1 Samuel 3:19 (KJB) And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground.
The words of God are eternally powerful and personally potent. Not just some of His Word, but every word. Sadly, some people choose to be casual or unintentional with God’s Word by allowing some or all His precious words to fall from their ears and never penetrate in their heart.
Not Samuel, he was sure to always treat God’s Words with great care for allowing it to soak into his ears and fall a few inches to rest his heart. Then, Samuel did not just let the words sit, he applied them to his life.
In his day, Samuel had to get the words from hearing priests read from scrolls. Today we are fortunate to have the entire Word of God recorded upon pages of a book for our learning and application. Most people, unless they live in a remote area, or one that has restricted the presence of God’s Word, have easy access to the Bible.
Therefore, many people in this world have no excuse for being biblically illiterate for failing to hear and absorb His Word.
A man should treat God’s Word with awe and respect. We need more Samuel’s modeling honor and obedience to God and His Word. Sadly, today many people exhibit hatred and disregard, even allowing His Word to fall and pile on the ground with great disrespect.
