A Day by Day Transformation
2 Corinthians 3:18 (KJB) But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
While our position is Christ through faith is instantaneous, our sanctification is a spiritual process, continually taking place each day. Even hour to hour and moment by moment. It is true, no person “has arrived” in perfect harmony with God this side of heaven.
It is only when a man or woman of God dies that he or she will reside in perfect fellowship with God for all eternity. Right now, each of us is a piece of spiritual work needing the perfecting process of God to work and will and their life. You see, God purifies us and perfects us as we sojourn in this dark and wicked world. God sets our heart and our feet to the fire in order to remove the spiritual dross pooling to the surface in our life.
Just like a diamond is hardened through the fire, a child of God is perfected and spiritually changed daily by necessary persecution, trials, and troubles at work in his life. This necessary “spiritual boiling process” proves whether a person is a sincere child of God by his continual eternal transformation completed by God on the day of his physical death.
