A Delightful Place Is Waiting

1 Corinthians 2:9 (KJV) But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

I like to travel.  Indeed I have personally visited many lovely and unique places on this earth.  I took a few moments to reflect upon the many destinations I have experienced as I ponder just what it is that God has prepared for us in Heaven.

You see,  the truth is even though any person has had an opportunity to journey to numerous places upon this beautiful earth, none will ever be as excellent as the splendor that God has waiting for us in eternity.

I have walked along the beach in Clearwater and St. Pete.

I have strolled inside an old fort near the rocky edge of the ocean in Old San Juan.

I sailed to Cozumel in the Yucatan Peninsula and climbed the Mayan Ruins of Tulum, which overlooks the ocean hovering near Guatemala’s border.

I strained to see the loud howler monkeys I could hear perched high up in the trees after climbing atop the ancient ruins of Chichen Itza in Mexico.  By the way, these monkeys sounded like the dinosaur soundtracks used in the movie Jurassic Park.

I rested and sunned in a hammock along the beach as crabs walked about in the sand in Haiti.

I visited a schoolhouse with a medical missionary brigade on the mainland in Honduras.  I also saw a beautiful and large waterfall on my the last day visiting this country. On a return trip to the area, I briefly visited a church and school on a nearby Honduran outer island.

I trekked on a hike through a rain forest in St. Lucia.

I photographed a lighthouse and an ocean rock formation in Aruba.

I walked around a quaint fishing village in St. John.

I ate tacos and shopped in Tijuana.

I looked peered across the foggy bay and visited the infamous zoo in San Diego.

I saw the towering Golden Gate Bridge spanning across the bay from my airplane window en route to Seattle.

I saw the beautiful snowy peaks of Mt. Ranier in the sky near Seatle.

I sailed into Glacier Bay and experienced glacier calving, boarded a commercial crab fishing boat, sailed into the Bering Sea, saw hundreds of eagles and magnificent mountain scenery in the picturesque state of Alaska.

I Sailed into St. Thomas, and the breathtaking beauty of the many yachts and sailboats dotting the port is stunning.

I hiked into the canopy of a rain forest in Barbados.

I visited a dormant but sulfurous volcano in St. Lucia.

I crossed the Ohio River and drove into the hills of Kentucky.

I stood on Lookout Mountain and peered out into the surrounding area of southern Tennessee.

I drove through the rolling hills of West Virginia.

I visited Abraham Lincoln’s birthplace in Illinois.

I’ve visited the Grand Canyon three times, Sedona, Tombstone, stood on a land bridge, saw dormant lava tubes, and many other remarkable places in this beautiful but hot state of Arizona.

I have ridden in the unique underwater tunnel in Virginia to reach Virginia Beach!

I’ve visited the rushing and falling waters in Niagra Falls, Canada.

I’ve visited the U.S Space and Rocket Center in Alabama.

I’ve visited the Creation Museum and Noah’s Ark in Ohio and the edge of Kentucky.

I’ve visited the Fort Worth Stockyards for delicious BBQ and stayed in the cities of Dallas and Plano, Texas.

I have both flown over and sailed over and around the Bermuda Triangle and survived!

I tell you this to you that though I have visited many unique areas, both in and out of The United States, none are as lovely as Heaven.  How do I know that?  The Bible gives us insight into the splendor God prepared for us in Heaven.  Glass streets, jeweled walls, ornate, and more beautiful and perfect, like nothing we can ever see in this world!

God prepared a mansion for you and me- John 14:2-3 (KJV) In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Not only did God prepare a place for us, but He is going to come back and get us so that we can spend eternity in Heaven in sweet fellowship with Him among such magnificence that we cannot even imagine how it will look from the confines of this earth.

The truth is if any of you have had an opportunity to visit at least one of the places I have seen, not one of these highly scenic areas hand painted by God on the canvas of this world will ever compare to the beauty waiting for us in the eternal realm.  Indeed, God has handcrafted a unique home for His spiritual family to spend eternity with Him.
