A Disciplined Army
Joel 2:8 (KJB) Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded.
The ancient context of this verse is speaking of a time when enemies were invading the ancient land of Israel. Not only that, but this message parallels one of a coming invasion with the fifth trumpet judgment, as was recorded for our consideration in the book of Revelation.
We can compare this marching band of inhabitors today with a gang of Loucuts marching forward. By nature, these creatures remain in rank and file formation marching towards a particular goal line without any moving out of line to reach the goal ahead of his fellow soldier creatures.
However, in this “dog eat dog” world, often a person marches out of line and attempts to get ahead of his fellow workers, friends. Many often desire to trump the stated desires and direction of God. Sadly, this world is a “me, myself, and I” society. Many people will scrap any hint of godliness and discipline to be the one to reach the world’s goal post first. This is especially true when it is necessary to move the goal post to be declared a winner.
God minces no words in revealing what will happen in the end times yet to come. Each of us must pay close attention, striving to remain in spiritual alignment with God and to remain on the eternal winning team rather than an injured participant in this wicked world.
