A Disposition

1 Thessalonians 5:17 (KJB) Pray without ceasing.

Praying without end is to stay in constant touch with God.

It is continuing to plead your case and to praise God even in the middle of pleasant conditions or rough circumstances.  It is dwelling in constant contact with God no matter what is happening about you.

Without ceasing is to pray to God when another person lets you down — or reaching out to God when you find yourself in the middle of a perplexing and dark situation, with no visible light shining in the distance.  Prayer to God is reaching out to turn on a light switch of hope while sojourning in this dark and wicked world.

Prayer is a disposition, or a mindset rather than a physical position a person must succumb to in his walk with God.  In other words, prayer is not necessarily a physical stance, placed on an altar, or found only inside the building of a church.  Prayer to God is heart-speak and is available whenever and wherever you are in this world.

A prayerful disposition means to put things together, to organize, to place your petitions and thanksgiving before God.  Prayer, in a nutshell, is to place our innermost thoughts before God.  Sometimes a person cannot put his or her need into words, but God can capture even our deepest concerns and needs, He knows every nook and cranny of our head and our heart.
