A Greater Tabernacle
Hebrews 9:11 (KJB) But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building.
The Old Testament tabernacle was a temporary tent which stood with the purpose of pointing to a coming perpetual temple. This Old Testament tent was temporary, moveable, and provided a holy place for God to come and dwell. It came with strict instructions for its use, the tear down of, and in erecting of it.
However, as holy as this temporary structure was, it was not a permanent solution of a place that God could dwell and meet with men. It did provide a place for an intercessor, or priest, to meet with God about the confessed sin of men.
It was promised by God that the New Testament would bring a new and holy structure that was not built by men, was holy forever, and was divinely constructed by God. A high priest would reside forever inside this holy structure for the spiritual personal benefit of every man.
This new divine structure is the perpetual temple of God constructed in heaven and perpetually present inside the softened spiritual heart condition of every man in this world who chooses to humble himself before God for allowing His presence to dwell, through the fuel of faith, inside every spiritually softened and quickened alive heart.
