A Humble Beginning A Glorious End
2 Corinthians 8:9 (KJB) For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
Jesus Christ became earthly poor so that you and I could choose to become perpetually rich, wrapped inside His unlimited mercy and grace. You see, Jesus Christ left the spiritual fullness of Heaven and came to this wicked earth making possible the eternal benefit and blessing of mankind.
That’s right, Jesus Christ left every heavenly blessing and His seat beside God (His Father) on the throne of Heaven to be born as a lowly infant on this earth. Jesus Christ was physically born among men with the humblest of beginnings. He was born an infant in a stable, rather than a magnificent mansion filled with earthly riches.
Isn’t it like that sometimes? The smallest gift among many opulently wrapped presents delicately tied with bows you receive is the best present ever. How many times on a birthday, Christmas, graduation, wedding, or other gift-giving occasion, might the small and seemingly insignificant package end up being the best present ever? You know, that book that you have read over and over, or the simple necklace that has adorned your neck for years. Or a handwritten note that pulls at your heart each time you read it.
How often do we find that the greatest gift is often one which seems the most unassuming?
A seemingly insignificant beginning is how Jesus Christ came to this earth, but He will return soon as King of Kings! Jesus was born as an infant, physically matured like any other child in youth, became a young preacher, faced a physical shed -blood death on Calvary, and is set to return at any moment.
