A “Know It All” Has A Lot to Learn
1 Corinthians 8:2 (KJB) And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.
We have many “know it all’s” in this world who are puffed up and filled with human knowledge, but perhaps useless in things of God.
What, you say? Useless knowledge? “…but I’ve been to college and have a formal education. I have a high salary career and a title to my name. I am a walking bookworm with my library rolling about in my head!”
The problem is that a person will not learn about God on a personal level until he understands that he has a lot to learn. Acknowledging his personal spiritual deficit sets the stage for God to do spiritual work inside his heart.
If a man knows nothing or little about Jesus Christ, he knows nothing of great value, especially concerning eternal matters. A man who does not personally know God indeed has a lot to learn in his lifetime on this earth. Personal knowledge of God starts when a heart is spiritually softened towards God and naturally standing in spiritual agreement with Him. Identifying with God is the first step in learning about His holy nature, righteousness, and divine perfection.
