A Little Lower Than The Angels
Hebrews 2:9 (KJB) But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
Jesus Christ left the divine comfort and peace of the heavenly realm to be born in the flesh as a man, all the while still God, in this world. Yes, Jesus Christ was divinely placed on this earth, a little lower than the angels, because God had an eternal purpose and a will for His life.
Jesus Christ was both willing and obedient to follow God’s will for His life. This meant leaving everything He was familiar with and comfortable in to face persecution and certain death at the hands of disobedient and wicked men. None of these horrible things which happened to Jesus Christ in this world surprised God. These unpleasant things were the ramifications of choosing to live in obedience to the will and way of God for His life.
Jesus Christ’s life and His death in the flesh was a cost associated to the sin problem at work in this world. His death was the transaction of yielding the payment necessary to remove the presence and power of sin for all mankind.
Jesus Christ had to come to this earth, just a bit lower than angels, to both live and die physically. This was necessary in order to render the power and presence of sin null and void for whosoever places faith in His finished work upon Calvary.
