A Loyal Servant of God Always Reaps Eternal Benefits
1 Corinthians 15:58 (KJB) Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
A man or woman of God is to be a loyal servant. This means that he or she will not fold up, step down, move to the side, or fall apart in the presence of great persecution and times of danger, and threats of defeat or death. He or she will continue serving in the ministry of God.
Paul is serving this reminder to his spiritual church family in ancient times. Many people need to take his message to heart today. Hard-pressed labor in sowing seeds of the gospel message is not considered light or unnecessary work to God and are necessary and valuable for the many darkened hearts in this world.
Sowing seeds of the gospel message is a labor of love for God and for the spiritual benefit of God’s spiritual family reaping awards both now and in the eternal realm.
God does know and sees what takes place in the lives of all His spiritual family. Not only does He notice, but He appreciates and puts to use the service and fruit production of every child of God. It ultimately benefits His eternal kingdom, brings Him honor and glory, and provides eternal benefits to His children.
