A Visible Representation
Colossians 1:15 (KJB) Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature.
Every person in this world has been given an innate knowledge of the eternal existence of God in his or her heart. However, no person can rightly describe exactly what God looks like, for none of us has ever seen Him, though every person has been divinely created by Him.
We can catch a mere glimpse of God through the eyes of John the Apostle who was inspired to try to describe a visible representation of God as he caught a mere glimpse of Him sitting on the throne in the heavenly realm in the book of Revelation. This heavenly sight was so awesome that John was unable to find any words to suitably describe the spiritual presence and holy attributes of God.
In creating a visible image, a man can apply the very words of God as found in the whole canon of scripture. His words are both right and useful in deciphering details as revealed about the nature of God’s identity and His holy characteristics. It is important for a child of God to better know and understand who God is for He desires every man choose to imitate Him as they sojourn in this world.
The desire of a regenerated man is to follow the commandments and precepts of God. To imitate His identity, it important to heed God’s Word for it makes him wise and as familiar as possible with the many revealed aspects of God divinely revealed there. As a man of God desires to become more and more like Him he becomes intimately more and more familiar with His Word.
