Abide and God Will Provide
John 15:5 (KJB) I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
The vine of a plant is a complex network center for providing and storing essential food and nutrients. Without this backbone of life every plant would starve and die. So is the case for each of us for God is the vine and we are the branches and we must abide in Him for life.
Abiding means to endure or sustain. It is to rest in the power and presence of God rather than trying to survive in our own weakness. You see, every person needs God for only with Him can a person live and dwell. Without Him, as this verse succinctly concludes we can do nothing on our own merit.
Each of us needs the power and presence of God at work in our life. It is only through His physical and spiritual nourishment that we can dwell and abide on this earth physically and live forever spiritually speaking in sweet fellowship with God.
