Abraham Doubted Not God’s Promise
Romans 4:20-21 (KJV) He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
Abraham lived in a world similar to what we live in today. This wicked leaning earth offers many reasons and opinions that can quickly sway a weak professing Christian to question and quiver about the promises of God. However, that said, for those individuals who remain focused on God rather than things of this world, like Abraham, steadfast souls can continue to trust in what God says in His Word.
Abraham did not have a Bible to hold in his hand or to thumb through to study verses of scripture. However, the promises of God have been available since the beginning, and Abraham had faith enough to clutch onto them rather than concentrate on his weakness. Abraham trusted in God and dismissed the evil at work in this world, hanging his hat on the certainty found in the promises of God.
You, too, like Abraham, can be spiritually stout and confident, knowing that what God says is true and timeless. You can place hope in His promises, stand firm in the faith, and set your affections on eternity as you sojourn in this wicked world, never staggering at the supernatural nature and spiritual feats of God at work in you and through you as you serve Him.
