Abraham Stayed Strong in Faith
Romans 4:20 (KJB) He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God.
You know the feeling. You hear something on the news or read something posted on a social media platform, and it sounds too good to be true. You scrutinize the fine print or strain to hear every detail as you consider the promise at hand.
Why, because promises are broken all the time in this world.
Indeed, we have all been let down a time or two when someone failed to come through and do as they promised. A spouse may promise to bring home supper but pass right by the fast food restaurant and forget his early morning promise he uttered as he hurriedly left for work. A child may say “yes, I promise, I will clean my room as soon as I get home from school.” However, when you return home from work the room is in even worse shape than it was this morning.
In fact, people let us down so often that often inwardly perhaps we even often expect for promises to be broken.
Not Abraham. He stayed strong in faith. He did not allow any hint of unbelief or skepticism to take root in his life but kept his eye focused on God who always does what He said He will do. In fact, God placed him in the “Faith Hall of Fame” found in Hebrews chapter eleven because his faith was so strong.
Praise God that every promise for mankind contained in God’s Word are all possible and probable. In fact, many prophecies recorded concerning the future have already taken place and you can count on every promise God made will undoubtedly come to pass in His perfect timing.
God never lets a man down or fails to do what He has said He can and will do for He always meets and exceeds any expectation founded on His Word, both now and forever in eternity. You can count on every single promise of God whether you are saved or lost in the heart.
