After Those Days
Hebrews 10:16-17 (KJV) This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
The prophet Jeremiah knew there would come a day when God would remember confessed sin no more. Perhaps Jeremiah did not know or understand the details; however, he took God at His word without question.
In ancient biblical times in the Old Testament, humanity had to come to God repeatedly to cover their sin on the Day of Atonement, a once a year event. However, since Calvary, this day of atonement for sin is no longer necessary for the shed-blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ upon Calvary once for all sin removes confessed sin.
Post Calvary, God remembers confessed sin no more, and the Bible tells us that God removes it as far as East is from West. Wow! This revelation is undoubtedly good news that keeps on giving and giving to every spiritually softened soul.
In his time, the prophet Jeremiah revealed the coming Savior who would remove sin, remember it no more, and work in softened souls’ hearts and minds. As you know, this inspired revelation came to pass with the birth, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
