Alive In Eternity
Matthew 22:32 (KJV) I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
In the several past verses in this twenty-second chapter of Matthew leading up to this point, God clarifies Himself and His position to the disciples who cannot wrap their head around who He is and forever will be, God!
To make them think, yet, even more, God declares in His own words that He is the God of Isaac, Jacob, and Abraham, who all remain alive in eternity. However, God uses “I am,” declaring He is God and that He remains alive to this current day in which we live, albeit present this very moment in the eternal realm with God sitting upon His throne.
The tense of the verbs here tells us a lot. This verse is one example of numerous “I am” verses divinely included in God’s Word. Reading each of them and studying them out can give you a broader look and understanding of who Jesus is and forever will remain.
These men, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, remain alive and well in the eternal realm. God is the great ‘I am” and always is the living God. If you sincerely know Him, you too will live forever.
