Also The Son Of The Giant
1 Chronicles 20:6 (KJV) And yet again there was war at Gath, where was a man of great stature, whose fingers and toes were four and twenty, six on each hand, and six on each foot: and he also was the son of the giant.
Wars continued to flare up near Gath. As you likely know, this area was infamous for colossal residents! I am not making up stories here; this extra-large stature among men, as recorded in the Bible, clearly points to the existence of giants and continual skirmishes.
Yet again, this verse states that a giant came to Gath. I am confident you understand that due to their mass, these men were both infamous and used to getting their way in battles against their opponents, for many were both afraid of their stature or unable to gain the upper hand in such conflicts. These giant opponents did exist because of the presence of sin.
This defeated mindset rings true in this ancient area; that is until a giant met the like of David, who soundly defeated a man of such stature with the presence of God, a comparatively small weapon, and God- determined strategy.
What about you, do you see many giants present in this world, or the power and strength of God working in every battle?
These verses give us an exciting glimpse into ancient history. Not only that, but we can also learn from it and apply it to our lives today. It tells us, despite the size of our battle, despite the stoutness of our enemy, God has a winning plan as we choose to follow His divine lead and battle plan.
