And All Thy House
Genesis 7:1 (KJB) And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.
Noah was a man who faithfully served and trusted God. Living this kind of “sold-out life” not only affected the spiritual state of his own life but worked miracles in the lives of others about him. Noah was a billboard for God to those around him, though most people chose to ignore his witness, it affected the hearts of his immediate family.
God called a total of eight people into the ark that day it began to rain. Noah’s family, his wife, their children, and spouses were all beckoned by God to come into the ark prepared for their safety in the time of this tremendous flood.
God does not give many details about Noah or his family, but we know that Noah was obedient and desired to follow the will of God through faith for this was recorded in God’s Word. Noah’s willingness to receive the direction of God and to live righteously, despite facing certain ridicule and opposition from many people around him, it made a difference in his life and for members of his family.
God invited Noah and his immediate family to find refuge inside the ark. God could see the righteousness at work in their heart while others, looking form the outside, perhaps saw irrational acts and utter foolishness.
