Are You A Sexual Pervert?

This article about sexual perversion is not intended to single out any particular person or group of people. To be clear, many Christians and Atheists alike are guilty of these sins and the subject of this article.

What does it mean when we say something is a perversion? Let’s see what Websters 1828 Dictionary has to say about this word.


PERVER’SION, noun [Latin perversus.] The act of perverting; a turning from truth or propriety; a diverting from the true intent or object; change to something worse. We speak of the perversion of the laws, when they are misinterpreted or misapplied; a perversion of reason, when it is misemployed; a perversion of Scripture, when it is willfully misinterpreted or misapplied, etc.

When we talk about something being sexually perverted then we are talking about sex that has been changed from its original intent. The original intent for sex is found in the very first chapter of the Bible – which is the world’s oldest and most accurate history book.

Genesis 1:28 (KJB) And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Original Intent

God’s original intent for sex was for the world’s first husband and wife to multiply and replenish the earth. In the New Testament Paul, inspired by God, further defined the marriage relationship to avoid sexual perversions such as fornication.

1 Corinthians 7:2-3 (KJB) Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.

Let’s be clear about God’s intent is for men and women.

Genesis 2:23-24 (KJB) And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

God’s intent is for men and women to get married and fill the earth. God’s method of filling the earth was for a man and a woman who were married to procreate and to fill the earth. When a woman and a man are joined (married) they are one flesh. So again sexual perversion is anything that is diverting or changing from this original intent that God has for men and women. We are to be joined as one and to fill the earth.

Sexual Perversion

God has defined what His intention was for men and women regarding sex. God has also defined in the Bible a great deal about what is sexual perversion. Here are some of the things the Bible defines as sexual perversions.


Leviticus 18:6 (KJB) None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am the LORD.

This form of sexual perversion was having any sexual relations with relatives. In this chapter of Leviticus, many different forms of incest are discussed. In the following fourteen verses, the word nakedness appears fifteen times. In every case, it pertains to sexual morality (or the lack of it). Human nakedness outside of marriage is directly condemned. Here, it often further refers to that which usually accompanies nakedness— sexual activity. Even within the immediate family, nakedness was forbidden.

I would note that Paul discussed this in his letter to the Corinthians.

1 Corinthians 5:1 (KJB) It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife.


This form of sexual perversion involves men or women have sexual relations with animals. Folks, common sense should come into play. The Bible is clear about this subject as well.

Leviticus 18:23 (KJB) Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.

Deuteronomy 27:21 (KJB) Cursed be he that lieth with any manner of beast. And all the people shall say, Amen.


Here is the definition of Fornication

FORNICA’TION, noun [Latin fornicatio.]

1. The incontinence or lewdness of unmarried persons, male or female; also, the criminal conversation of a married man with an unmarried woman.

2. Adultery. Matthew 5:32.

3. Incest. 1 Corinthians 5:1.

4. Idolatry; a forsaking of the true God, and worshipping of idols. 2 Chronicles 21:11, Revelation 19:2.

Herein lies a sexual perversion that many are guilty of and that is any sex outside of marriage. Please don’t be angry with me I’m just the person writing the article. Many people are so lured by sex that they often times don’t wait until they are married.

Deuteronomy 22:22 (KJB) If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel.

There are more verses in Deuteronomy that discuss sex outside of marriage. Then of course there is sex with someone other than your marriage partner. This is also a popular sin of both the Christian and Atheist. The verse below singles out several sexual perversions. Some we have discussed fornicators and adulterers. A few we have not discussed are sodomites.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (KJB) Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

Sodomy – Homosexuality

Sodomy is also addressed in the Bible as a Sexual Perversion. This perversion involves having sexual relations with a member of the same sex. Today this sin takes many forms which includes men becoming women and vice versa. God created us as either an man or a women and that can never be changed.

Leviticus 18:22 (KJB) Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Romans 1:26-27 (KJB) For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Jude 7 (KJB) Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Sexual Perversion – A Lesson from God

If you search the Bible to learn about the sexual perversions I have outlined in this article you learn quickly that God has very strong feelings about sexual perversions. As Christians we should also be passionate about keeping ourselves pure from sexual perversions and also asking for forgiveness from God if we are guilty of committing any of these sins. I realize that many people commit sexual sins on a regular basis. Some understand what they are doing is wrong, some don’t – some don’t care.

As Christians we need to seek repentance when we sin. God forgives a sinner. Anyone committing sexual perversions can be forgiven if they ask Jesus Christ for forgiveness and turn from their sins. On the other hand if we are not willing to forsake a sinful lifestyle then their is no repentance – and without repentance no salvation from sin.

The Lesson

A lesson that I learned recently from the Bible has to do with the Midianites. These events all have in the book of numbers and also have to do with sexual perversion. But let me set the stage for the point I would like to try to make.

Christians will all know the events around Moses leading the Israelite’s to the promised land. Starting in Numbers 22 we read about Moses going through the land of Moab (by the way Moab is another lesson of sexual perversion). The King of Moab was concerned about Israel and they ask the Midianites to also help them deal with Israel.

King Balak sends princes to Balaam who we all know from the famous incident where his donkey spoke to him. Balak asked for Balaam to cast a spell on Israel but he was not allowed to do so by God. However, we learn from the Bible that subsequently Balaam taught King Balak how to corrupt Israel using sexual perversion. In Numbers 25 we read:

Numbers 25:1-2 (KJB) And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab. And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.

Balaam was not able to cast his enchantments on Israel but using sexual perversion he taught the King of Moab how to corrupt the people. From fornication to worshiping the false God’s of Moab was not a big leap. Solomon would have his own problems with sexual perversions and women leading him into worshiping false God’s. There would however be a cost to for the sin as Balak and Balaam discovered.

Numbers 31:8 (KJB) And they slew the kings of Midian, beside the rest of them that were slain; namely, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian: Balaam also the son of Beor they slew with the sword.

Numbers 31:16 (KJB) Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.

We learn in Numbers 31 that all the Midianite men were killed by Israel. Only the women who had not previously slept with a man (sexually pure) were left alive.

God hates sexual perversion and He is clear about it in the Bible. We learn that people who commit sexual perversions, such as those who existed in Sodom and Gomorrha, are set forth as an example for us. The result of sexual perversion is eternal fire.

Jude 7 (KJB) Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

The good news is – the gospel. The gospel literally means Good News. All we need to do is confess our sins and turn from them to be saved. If you’re not sure please ask us.

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
