Are You an “Oddball”?
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. (Acts 4:12-13 KJV)
True salvation comes with confidence in God. Spiritual boldness is seen as out of control and unnatural in this world. Those who desire to cling tightly to things of God should appear unreal and odd to those who are naturally aligned with the dark nature of the god of this world.
The spiritual mindset and heart condition at work in this world is not something new. There were instances recorded in the Bible of Christians who were accused of being drunk with wine or as stupid as they dared to stand tall for things of God while they sojourned in this dark and evil world.
Those who choose to endure for advancing the Truth do seem out of place when compared against standards at work in this world. There should be something noticeably different about the spiritual condition and operation of a saved individual’s heart and mind.
Men of this world often interpret spiritual boldness for Truth with mental instability or “having a screw loose” type of challenged mentality. Christian’s are noticed as “oddballs” in this world because they are by their new nature citizens of heaven.
