Are You Feasting on the Real Deal?
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. (1 Peter 1:23 KJV)
This scripture verse is talking about spiritual new birth. Being born again is a reference to having a new spiritual nature or condition of the heart, which is incorruptible, eternal, and forever alive. All mankind is born on this earth physically alive, but spiritually dead, because of their naturally darkened corrupted heart filled to the brim with sin.
Liveth is used to describe God in this verse. It is in the present tense. This means that God was, not just alive for a time in history, but was spiritually alive in the beginning of creation, alive now, and alive forever without end.
Mankind in his natural state will die physically. If he is not born, or quickened spiritually alive in his heart by the work of God while he is physically alive, he will one day be both dead both spiritually and physically. God abideth forever and man can live forever with God by having the Spirit of God dwelling in his quickened alive heart through faith.
Incorruptible means immortal. God is incorruptible.
God, His Word (who is Jesus Christ), and His Spirit are living and will be alive forever.
There are many corrupted versions of the Bible today but only the genuine inspired one, God’s Word, is incorruptible. It is the truth, alive and abiding forever (Psalm 12:6-7, Hebrews 4:12, Matt 24:35).
