Are you sewing aprons?
And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. (Genesis 3:7 KJV)
This verse is not speaking of a physical event taking place in Adam and Eve. The context of this scripture verse was an unfolding spiritual event when both Adam and Eve’s eyes were opened to the Truth as they chose to ignore God’s one commandment. They chose to willingly eat from the prohibited tree of knowledge which God had banned them from consuming.
This commandment from God was to preserve their own spiritual health and welfare on this earth.
This spiritual awaking, or uncovering, in the lives of both Adam and Eve left them both spiritually naked and destitute, thereby changing the “spiritual flavor” of the entire world. Ignorance or indifference towards this one commandment of God allowed the dark sin nature of the satan to enter into this world through one man’s disobedience.
Since this fateful day many people are busy sewing aprons to try to cover their sinful nature which woefully sticks out when viewed against the back drop of God’s Truth. When man looks into the mirror God’s Truth it exposes his true reflection according to the law of God, rather than being measured against the evil and dark nature at work in this world.
Truth always leaves mankind feeling naked and ashamed of his inadequate spiritual ill health. There is an eternal cure available.
Mankind often resorts to trying to fulfill the law through exercising their own works. Many resort to sewing aprons to cover themselves, rather than resting meekly in the covering of Truth God has freely provided for them through faith.
