Atoned for All Sin
Isaiah 53:6 (KJB) All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
This Old Testament prophecy examined the sin problem of every heart and the coming supernatural prescription, through Jesus Christ, to atone for sin. These first few verses of chapter fifty-three in the book of Isaiah, including verse six above, are essential verses to understand about sin, the past and our future.
God often used sheep in describing His spiritual children. Why, because a man is like a sheep in many ways just as God is often called The Shepherd for He can be likened to a shepherd who oversees a herd of sheep.
All mankind are natural born sinners, who stray away from the Shepherd, God, which I am sure you already understand. All sin was laid upon Jesus Christ; past, present, and future. Jesus Christ atoned for all sin upon Calvary. What does this mean? Jesus Christ paid in full the penalty for sin and marked the ledger PAID IN FULL.
Though mankind does not deserve the penalty of his sin be taken care of, God sent His Son Jesus Christ to wipe the slate clean. Jesus Christ atoned for the entire sin debt of mankind and left the gift of His grace for whoever will accept it.
