Babylon Receives A Just Reward

Babylon To Receive A Just Reward

Habakkuk 2:12-13 (KJV) Woe to him that buildeth a town with blood, and stablisheth a city by iniquity! Behold, is it not of the LORD of hosts that the people shall labour in the very fire, and the people shall weary themselves for very vanity?

The ancient city of Babylon was a wicked, wicked place.  It was a dark place where the value of life was not considered precious, and these hard-hearted people esteemed themselves and their life choices to be above that of God.  As you know, in due time, Babylon received justice for their great sin from the Lord, for God cannot allow sin to flourish without meeting His sentence. However, God’s righteous hammer of truth does not always swing immediately in wicked circumstances; take heart for God will exercise judgment in His timing.

I am sure you also realize that evil, concerning the precious nature of life, repeatedly plays out in our world today.  Life is not always cherished, especially when it concerns the life of an infant in the womb.  Or in the case of an aging ill person lingering near death.  In either case, often, evil-hearted individuals take it upon themselves to discern the necessity of life apart from God.  In great pride and conceit, wayward humanity often chooses to elevate himself above God and elect to shed innocent blood without regard for his eternal state of heart, opening the door for evil and wickedness to abound.

A time is coming when each person will receive a just reward for his every choice made on this earth.  Just like ancient Babylon, each induvial will personally, and collectively as a nation, face the eternal justice given by God through the judgment of His Son Jesus Christ concerning the value of every life.
