Be Satisfied with Your Lot in Life
1 Timothy 6:6 (KJB) But godliness with contentment is great gain.
Godliness and contentment are two sides of the same spiritual coin. Being more and more like God AND satisfied with one’s lot in life, whether in adverse circumstances or found living as a king with muck surrounding him on four sides, is possible.
Yes, lasting contentment from God can ooze into every crack and crevice in our lives. It can “stick to our ribs” whether it is raining or sunny weather happening about us!.
Godliness and contentment are huge pillars needed in the life of every professing Christian. You cannot have one pillar without the other. Godliness does not come without contentment and satisfaction is not possible without the presence of the indwelling nature of God at work in our life. They ultimately do rely upon each other to bring about a powerful and pleasing nature that agrees with God.
A person who is naturally set on existing in opposition to God will find no pleasure or satisfaction in any area of his life while a child of God seeks both inwardly and outwardly to agree with God and will be perpetually content.
For the child of God being spiritually settled in a relationship with God is a great eternal gain that ebbs and flows with great satisfaction, regardless of his or circumstances, now and forever in the eternal realm.
