Brimstone and Fire Rained
Genesis 19:24-25 (KJB) Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; 25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.
God rained brimstone and fire upon Sodom and Gomorrah for their utter wickedness. The Bible may not allude to exactly how this event took place but that is where faith in the presence and power of God takes over!
We do not have to know and understand all the details of a situation, but we can know for sure that this divine destruction did occur simply because God’s Word says that it did!
Some people would venture to say it was a volcano that burst and rained down. While others would say perhaps it was some sort of cataclysmic solar eruption. Often mankind is more “Spiritually comfortable” in saying a biblical event is one in which they have personally experienced, or understand the details taking place, outside of just simply trusting in the biblical account inspired and divinely recorded by God.
Somehow, when a prominent event has taken place in history visible proof often serves to lend greater credence to the accuracy of the story in the eyes of unbelievers, naysayers, and Bible critics, than simply allowing themselves to trust in the Word of God.
A child of God who is filled to overflowing with His eternal knowledge simply understands that when God says a biblical event did take place it leaves no question or hesitation, even about specifics, of a situation.
If God said it, it’s so!
