A New Creature

2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJB) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

The first thing to note in this verse is that the focus is on being in Christ.  To be in Christ is a spiritual state of the heart eager and willing to be under the headship or spiritual leadership of God.  This spiritual state of heart is the opposite of many operating in a mode of me, myself, and I and nothing ...

Simon Bewitched

Acts 8:9-11 (KJB) But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: 10 To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God. 11 And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.

I want to call to your attention to a word divinely recorded in the above ...

Are You Religious or Superstitious?

Acts 17:22 (KJB) Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars’ hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.

Religious and superstitious lie at different ends of the spiritual spectrum.

The Apostle Paul was a man who desired to follow the will and way of God.  He was a man who desired to please God, as his life proves. At all personal cost.  In doing so, Paul was used greatly of God including penning numerous books of the ...

Jesus Christ’s Very Own Words

John 4:23-24 (KJB) But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Nothing could be more conceited and arrogant than to think that a man could change the very words spoken on this earth by Jesus Christ.  But that is exactly what we find with the above verses divinely recorded in ...

Until Death Does Part

Matthew 5:31-32 (KJB) It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: 32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

This world increasingly offers a widening venue for “drive-thru weddings and prides itself on the availability of instant divorce and for a multitude of reasons.  However, most of these reasons do not align with ...

A living being, a life-giving spirit

A living soul, a life-giving spirit

A living Soul, a quickening spirit

Above are three different wordings one can find when looking up this scripture verse found in 1 Corinthians 15:45, a scripture verse penned by the Apostle Paul.  Why is such variance found with this verse?  It depends on the Bible version used to look up it ...

Are You Sincerely Saved?

1 Corinthians 1:18 (KJB) For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Are we saved, or are we being saved?  This difference in wording is as opposing as apples are to oranges or as night is to daytime.  The two spiritual camps rest at opposing ends of the spiritual spectrum.  A saved heart enjoys sweet eternal fellowship with God while lost hearts are far removed from Him; both now and forevermore.

A ...

The Righteousness of Christ

Revelation 19:8 (KJB) And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

The pure nature of Christ is on display for our understanding and our application in this verse.  This biblically based illustration of Christ’s righteous nature is portrayed for us by the mention of fine white linen, crisp, clean, unspoiled, unadulterated.  These words paint for us an uncorrupted picture of His unmarred character and righteousness.  ...

Follow Christ

1 Corinthians 11:1 (KJB) Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

Follow Christ.

Imitate Christ.

Follow the example of Christ.

Of Christ.

Do these four statements above have the same meaning?  Can one or multiple phrases above be substituted among the various modern Bible versions with each reader arriving at the same understanding or conclusion when reading this succinct scripture verse?

The answer is a resounding no!  What is intrinsically changed cannot ever mean the same thing, whether it be trying to ...
