Celebrating Santa Claus

Celebrating Santa Claus

Isaiah 9:6 (KJB) For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Many prophecies have come to pass concerning the birth of Christ and can are found in the Old Testament.  But you may ask, where is the part about Santa Claus bearing gifts located in the Bible?  Celebrating Santa is nothing more than participating commercialized chaos built upon lies.

The true spirit of Christmas is not wrapped up in believing in Santa .  Nor is the truth of this season found inside any gifts.  The true uniqueness and supernatural Spirit of Christmas are not of this world.  Christmas is a season important for pointing to the virgin birth of Jesus Christ.  It is a celebration of the beginning of Jesus Christ’s short human life and vital ministry in this world.

Ultimately, the celebration of Jesus Christ’s birth is about the coming of a future King,  who willingly shed His precious blood on Calvary, according to the will of God.

Santa Claus is famous, especially among parents who are deceiving their young kids to eagerly await his coming with fun, festivities, and gifts.  It is a celebrated holiday season culminating with a jolly Santa arriving in a sleigh pulled by reindeer with a sack full of toys to come down the chimney on Christmas Eve.  Santa Claus is nothing more than a commercialized celebration overlooking the glorious birth of Jesus Christ, hijacked by satan in this world.

Sadly, truth be known, many more kids (and adults) look for the coming of Santa on Christmas Eve far more often than lost and wayward hearts are willing to look for the imminent arrival of Jesus Christ which could happen at any time.

I do not wish to “take the wind out of your festive sails,” but want to point you to celebrate with me the real reason for the Christmas season, Jesus Christ, who gave each of the greatest gift ever.  I hope you too are awed with the virgin birth of Christ, rather than placing undue expectation in a fairy tale with a sleigh, elves, and a sack of gifts said to be peculiarly handed out by a jolly man named Santa Claus.

Sadly, for many, the Christmas season is filled with visions of Santa Claus coming down the chimney bearing gifts,  decorated Christmas trees, family celebrations, and such.  The real truth is that Christmas is a biblical based and prophesied celebration of New Testament virgin birth of Jesus Christ.  For some time, this ancient birthday celebration has been turned into commercial chaos, making this season far removed from pointing to the birth of Jesus Christ and bringing honor and glory to God.
