John 3:18 (KJB) He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
A person who does not believe in things of God is already condemned and set to die rather than to live forever.
Condemnation is not a work of God but naturally arises when a person chooses to not believe in God. It is a natural byproduct of a choice of disbelief and doubt about things of God. Condemnation is a known, or recognized disproval of God that pokes and prods inside lost hearts.
Your heart innately recognizes a requirement for the supernatural power and presence of God. This spiritual need was placed in the heart condition of every person before their birth into this world. Only God can fill this empty heart space as there is nothing found in this world which can take care of this vital eternal necessity.
Try as you might, nothing available in this world will eliminate the innate tugging and prodding taking place at the door of your heart. This emptiness causes a nagging conviction which can only be appeased by filling it with a personal relationship with Christ. When, (not if) God nudges your heart answer Him with acceptance of His Son Jesus Christ, through faith to rid your heart of censure and conviction caused by the presence of sin.
Agree with God about the nature of sin choosing to believe in His Son Jesus Christ through faith. Doing so will perpetually rid sin, bring certainty of eternal life, and silence this continual alarm at work inside natural hearts. However, repeated rejections of truths of God can inactivate this inner alarm silencing any further notifications from God and thereby ushering in certain eternal death rather than repeatedly extending His offer of eternal life.
