Congregations Of The Dead

Is your heart and your church dead or teaming with NEW LIFE?

Proverbs 21:16 (KJB)   The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.

It is always the man who wanders away from following God. for God never walks away from any man traveling along His pathway of understanding.  God sent Jesus Christ to put the message of salvation “on the bottom shelf” so that anyone, all mankind, or whosoever will, can take His supernatural message and apply it to their own heart.

Traveling along the narrow way is never difficult or impassable operating in His power and strength.

The narrow way is focused upon the truths of God, understanding them, and applying His grace and mercy upon hearts individually.  Otherwise, man is covertly drawn into giving his attention and time to lies and fabrications “cooked up” by the god of this world.  Understanding God’s way spiritually grows and matures man’s heart.  Choosing to follow the god of this world’s alternate pathway leads away from truths and hardens and shutters man’s heart.

There is no gray “spiritual fence” erected in the middle of Right and Wrong Avenue.  A man is either “spiritually hot and heavy” found walking along the narrow pathway or he is found “stone cold and ignorant” traveling along the wide pathway fleeing things of God.

Mankind is either eternally alive or dead in his sin.

The Apostle John was inspired by God over thousands of years ago to record about two kinds of churches at work in this world.  One church is “spiritually warm and fuzzy” offering an open-ended invitation for God’s presence to dwell within it.  The other church is a cold and spiritually dead church where the truths of God are not welcome or coveted.

In the third chapter of the book of Revelation God speaks and warns about lukewarmness found in the church.

The bottom line:  anything that is not “hot” for God is spiritually “cold” and dead.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJB) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Yes, the Bible tells us (it is not based upon my own opinion or focused set of beliefs) a personal relationship with Christ CHANGES the heart condition of every spiritually regenerated man and woman.

Yes, a new spiritual life is guaranteed to TRANSFORM every person from the inside out.

Yes, the man or woman of Christ desires to put on holiness and righteousness OF God rather than look and talk like the facade emanating from the god of this world affecting the heart of the natural man who is comfortable living in this world.

A positional standing with Christ will affect EVERY aspect of life, including relationships, speech, attitude, dress, activities, habits, values, thinking, and choices so that a man no longer desires to look like or act like values and lifestyles readily at work in this world.

God has a specific calling for His pastors.  Their lead and authority are critical and vital in helping to uphold the spiritual heartbeat of churches today.  It is their job to preach the Truth of God both in season and out of season as recorded in 2 Timothy.  This means God led preaching conveys His Truths about all situations of life.  Circumstances never determine whether a man of God preaches the truth.  His Word is preached because truth is always present and working in godly sermons.  A pastor who is willing to follow God’s clear commands to preach His Truth is always alive and spiritually flourishing in this dark world.

Spiritually alive congregations remain sensitive and spiritually perceptive and convicted about the working of the Holy Spirit both in their own lives and within the working of their church service.  They will wholeheartedly desire to apply these spiritual changes to their own lives, the church, and to affect this world.

A called man of God pays no mind to the actual count of the number of people attending the services, or the number of empty seats in the auditorium.  Nor does he get overly concerned about the intricate details of how the sowing the seed ministry, bus ministry, teen ministry, elder ministry, or children’s ministry work from day to day.  He does not get involved in counting and collecting the tithes and offerings presented, or become overly concerned about the balance remaining in the bank.  He is determined to fervently pray to God, hear and react to His supernatural leading and direction, and apply His direction into the working of His church.

The man of God’s greatest concern is speaking the Truth and keeping the Spirit of God alive and well in His church.  For he knows if God is present and active in the building as well as living in all of the god chosen elders and deacons, leaders, and teachers they will perceive God’s direction and follow through according to His will in the various ministries and programs.  Following God will always lead to spiritual growth and maturity in the hearts of the congregation and the church house.

You see nothing has changed since the beginning of time.  God’s Truth always trumps lies of the god of this world.

Truth equals spiritual growth while the god of this world’s lies promotes spiritual death.

God’s Word in the Old Testament says:

Jeremiah 26:2-3 (KJB)   Thus saith the LORD; Stand in the court of the LORD’S house, and speak unto all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the LORD’S house, all the words that I command thee to speak unto them; diminish not a word:  3 If so be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil, which I purpose to do unto them because of the evil of their doings.

The supernatural power of God’s Word rings true in the whole cannon of scripture.  In the book of Jeremiah, the immediate context is exclusively geared toward the Israelites in God’s temple, but this truth is found in both the Old and The New Testament and is relevant and applicable today.  The Truth is found in many places including in this intricate description about the surgical precision in which truth squarely hits the heart of the matter inside man’s softened heart:

Hebrews 4:12 (KJB)   For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Yes, the “plowing power” of God’s Truth has not been changed or been compromised over thousands of years.

The bottom line is no pastor or teacher can force or dictate to another, thereby compelling him or her to accept and embrace the lifesaving eternal message of hope. God gives an equal opportunity through His free will to all mankind to embrace Him through faith and allow Him to reside inside their heart.   However, some will choose to flee from God rather than embrace Him.

A relationship with God is personal, therefore, no pastor can be held responsible for what a man or woman does with the messages of God he consistently preaches.  Once an individual hears His Truth consistently then the spiritual application process is entirely up to each individual to faithfully apply or foolishly ignore in the course of their life as they sojourn on this earth.

What about your own heart condition and that of your church collectively?  Is it a congregation of the dead or spiritually alive and kicking in Christ?
