Corruptible and Incorruptible
1 Corinthians 15:52-54 (KJV) In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
God sets the terms for death and life. All humanity is born into this world and faces certain death at the end of his physical presence. This verse, among many others, tells us that each individual must decide about the spiritual state of his life and the location he spends eternity.
You see, each of us will come to a fork in the road—a place where you must decide where you will spend eternity.
I hope you understand that eternal victory and perpetual life is possible for every person. However, that said, not every person will choose life. Sadly, some choose to sin until death separates them from God. Or in other words, living a life filled with corruption only leads to inevitable eternal demise. On the other hand, it is essential to know that choosing the desires and direction given by God leads to living in fellowship with Him forever.
Life and death often happen in moments, not days, hours, weeks, or years. One moment a person is alive on this earth, and in the next moment, he is physically dead, and present in eternity with or without the presence of God. This truth is why it is so vital for each of us to consider God and our spiritual state of heart, for, at any moment, we can be called to dwell in eternity either among corruption or in sweet fellowship with God among incorruption and perfection.
Only with the perfection of God can any soul align with him in sweet-smelling eternal spiritual victory, which lasts forever. God can lead any soul to live forever. In contrast, spiritually lost souls choose to follow after the express wicked nature of humanity and undoubtedly wear the unmistakable scent of wickedness and corruption forever apart from God.
