Count On It, You Will Be Hated
Matthew 10:21-22 (KJB) And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death. 22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
Hate is a strong emotion that stems from a deep-rooted dark spiritual state of the heart. Just as this verse states, a brother hates another brother, a father hates his child, and children rise against the authority of their parents all because of the presence of hate in their hearts.
Yes, hatred and spiritual animosity are prevalent in this world.
The most critical teachings each of us can take out of these verses above is that one, we must expect to be hated, even by those who seem to be close to us and can also be our family members, whether it be blood or perhaps even our professing spiritual family.
Secondly, we are to adopt the character and nature of Christ, and as someone once said, “keep on keeping on” or forgiving and serving despite any hounding and hatred working about us for shining a light on Christ.
The spiritual bottom line: every sincere professing Christian should expect to face hate in this world, and he and she must stand spiritually strong amid any heated battle in the name of Jesus Christ. Salvation comes to those who die to self and live for things of Christ.
