Crawling Under Rocks
Revelation 6:15 (KJB) And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains.
Imagine this scene unfolding before you: the end of the world as we know it is near, and suddenly every man has been confronted with the stark realization of God’s impending judgment against sin is about to commence.
Now, certainly, you understand that this verse is recorded in the context of the end of the world. Jesus Christ has already come for His saints, and only lost hearts are present in this world. Could a saved man be able to witness God’s judgment to come in the near future? How painful that would be to see one’s family and friends cowering in fear behind huge rocks and in caves hiding from the coming wrath of God.
Mankind can be fake and fickle. He can profess to possess a personal relationship with God. However, God is never fooled. He knows the heart of every man, woman, and child from the inside out. There is no hiding a sinful heart from Him.
God’s wrath against sin and His future judgment will be horrendous for any person left on this earth. Thinking for a moment about the reality of this scene unfolding in the future is more than reason enough to attempt to reach friends and family with the gospel message once again.
